Discover Padirac from the campsite
The gouffre de Padirac is a natural cavity that opens up through an opening 35 metres in diameter with a vertiginous peak 103 metres deep. A lift allows the visit to be made in complete safety. At the bottom of the chasm, the Padirac river flows underground in a 40 km network of galleries.
The visit continues by wandering through the caves shaped by water and time. It is possible to extend the visit by boat on the underground river. You will be dazzled by the beauty of these underground places that have remained intact over time.
The visit takes about 1h30.
Near Padirac, you can visit the castle of Castelnau Bretenoux in the Lot, a medieval fortress of the 13th century characterized by its artillery tower.
The castle of Montal, also a stone’s throw from Padirac, is located in the commune of Saint Jean Lespinasse. Richly decorated, this early renaissance castle and its gardens will not fail to dazzle you for an unforgettable visit. Your holidays in the Lot are an opportunity to discover many small villages such as Carennac, Loubressac, Collonges la rouge, Lascaux or Turenne.
